Days after being called the Beatrix Potter – Dr Dolittle of twitter. I had a very shy visitor from my favorite childhood Beatrix Potter story ‘The Tail of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle” I heard the dogs barking and a shout from my Ma. She had picked up a hedgehog which had been drinking at the dogs out door water trough. I kenneled up the dogs so Mrs Tiggy – Winkle could find her way undisturbed to her day time nest.

Ma had put the ball of prickles into a bucket which I took off to where I knew hedgehogs nested hoping I was returning her to her own nesting area.

It took a while for her to begin to uncurl from her ball like shape. She was not impressed with having her photo taken and showed me her paw in protest.

After a bit of quite conversation Mrs. Tiggy – Winkle’s protests lessened and she showed her face.

She was still a very frozen stiff model for close ups, her trust of me had not quite developed.

But slowly she got used to me and started to relax into the person she was, my Mrs. Tiggy – Winkle

Such a sweet face all whiskers, prickles & beady eyes.

Finally she relented and allowed me to take the sweetest bright eyed portrait of herself Mrs. Tiggy – Winkle.

A few minute later she trotted off to her big brush pile, where I hope she will give birth to nice nice litter of kits
