It has been a very hot week for a big woolly cat, so Bodaciouse has had a hard time working in this heat and has chosen his jobs very carefully.
Due to this grass drying heat I have started feeding the lambs so that they can keep growing and not suffer from lack of palatable grass.
Feeding the lambs seems to fascinate Bodacious and he never misses this part of the day. It is already very hot so he goes under the trailer in deep shade to watch his lambs.
Sometimes the lambs try to join him but can’t quite figure out how to do so.
One of the jobs this week has been to power hose clean the horsebox as I will have to be traveling the country picking up all the pure Irish Zwartbles wool from breeders all across the county.
The horsebox has many uses besides moving horses, bringing home loads of hay, it also transports sheep, loads of rubbish to the dump, moves pallets of stones and building blocks.
Time to get the power hose going and power out all the dirt from inside.
Bodacious takes his time looking at the dirty horse box, he is a stern taskmaster.
While I am working my taskmaster is lolling about under the trailer.
When I have done the job it has to be inspected very thoroughly.
The floor, walls and ramps all get a good walking over and sniffing before it passes inspection.
With a clean horsebox I am ready to hit the road picking up this seasons Zwartbles fleeces. When I get home Bodacious is on hand to inspect the load, which must meet with his tail flicking approval.
When the wool starts to be unloaded he has to give it the softness test which is his favorite part.
Once he is on his woolly throne he over sees the rest of the unloading with a very superior look.
When all is done for the day there is still the evening walk around the sheep which Bodacious loves to do.
The final job of the day is to feed the lambs.
The last thing that Bodacious does at night is look at the Zwartbles Ireland twitter feed @zwartblesie and see what friends, other farmers and people all over the world are up to.
