Walking into the stable I discovered this little fellow fallen from a great height.
I put the poor fellow into a big mug for protection from the farm cats, to whom a small bird like this would be a tasty snack.
The problem was we have so many swallows nesting I had to climb the ladder quite a few times before finding the nest from which it had fallen.
While climbing up and down ladders, looking into swallow nests I find I have a very keen assistant watch my every move.
Now I find two nests with chicks in them at about the same age so which nest to put my little fellow in?
Job done I only hope they can stick together and mature into fine swallows which eat all the nasty Nore valley midges which love eating me early in the mornings and in the evenings as the sun goes down.
